The chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola – Sodipo has welcomed the team of officers from the Bureau of public Procurement ogun state, led by Mrs okunola oluwafumilayo.
The function which took place in the conference hall, council secretariat Akomoje on Tuesday 15th October, 2025 and was well attended by the Management team.
In his welcome address, the council chairman, Dr.’Lanre Oyegbola – Sodipo, who was ably represented by the Ag. Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs olufunmilayo Soberu appreciated the effort of the Procurement team for sparing their time to visit the Local Government despite their tight schedule for the exercise.
Meanwhile, the team leader of the public Procurement team, Mrs okunola oluwafunmilayo charged that the aim of their visit based on sensitising and having review of year 2024 Procurement exercise and some basic training together.
She further stressed that the visit was not meant to frighten anybody, rather to train the management team on specific guidelines to follow in terms of Procurement and other related activities.
Moreover, the resource personnel to the bureau of public Procurement, Mr Akinbode.A.O emphasized that Procurement stands as the purchasing power house of any organization which must be embraced with openness, trustworthiness in any transaction.
He added that every parastatal must have Procurement planning commitee comprises of the Head of Local Government Administration as the Accounting officer and other Directors and HOD of various department.
In the same vein, responses, questions were asked by the Management team and well attended to by the Procurement team leader and the resource personnel resprctively.
The Director, Water supply and Environmental Sanitation, Mrs Ayoade Racheal Olajumoke, In her vote of thanks appreciated the Procurement team for the training exercise which serves as eye opener to as many that attended the exercise and will as well help everyone in the future.
