Abeokuta North Teachers Win Prestigious Awards

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, has congratulated outstanding teachers from the Local Government who emerged as top awardees at both the State and National levels in recognition of their excellence, innovation, and remarkable contributions to education.

In a statement issued through his media office, Hon. Oyegbola Sodipo applauded the teachers for bringing pride and honor to Abeokuta North, describing their achievements as a clear testimony to the visionary leadership and educational reforms championed by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Governor of Ogun State.

The awardees include:

  1. Mr. James Olatunde Odubela – Best State Administrator (Public Primary School Category), Community Primary School, Mile 2, Abeokuta North.
  2. Mrs. Alonge Bolanle – 2nd Best State Administrator (Public Primary School Category), Methodist Primary School 2, Ago-Oko, Abeokuta North.
  3. Mrs. Tijani Rahamot Bolanle – 3rd Best State Teacher (Public Primary School Category), Community Primary School, Mile 2, Abeokuta North.
  4. Mr. France Taiwo Solanke – Best State Teacher (Public Primary School Category), Ogun State and overall Best Teacher in Nigeria (Public Primary School Category), from Kemta Ilawo Primary School, Abeokuta North.

Mr. Solanke’s outstanding performance at the National level earned him the prestigious title of Best Teacher in Nigeria, Primary School Category, and a brand new car, presented during the National Teachers’ Day Celebration — a feat that placed Abeokuta North in the national spotlight.

“This remarkable achievement is not just a celebration of our teachers, but a reflection of the Governor’s commitment to making Ogun State a model of educational excellence in Nigeria. As a Local Government, we remain steadfast in providing the necessary support and atmosphere for teaching and learning to thrive,” the statement read.

Hon. Oyegbola Sodipo also commended the Executive Secretary, Abeokuta North Local Government Education Authority, Chief Oluwole Ayorinde, fhnr, faco, for his visionary leadership, coordination, and unwavering commitment to the development of education within the Local Government. He noted that the successes recorded by teachers from Abeokuta North are products of effective collaboration, mentorship, and the enabling environment fostered under Chief Ayorinde’s administration.

The Chairman reaffirmed Abeokuta North Local Government’s unwavering support for the Governor’s continuous investment in education, particularly in enhancing school infrastructure, teacher welfare, and access to quality instruction across all levels.

He further noted that while there are over 100,000 primary schools across the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria, the success of Abeokuta North teachers stands as a shining example of what can be achieved through dedication, professionalism, and strong institutional leadership.

The Chairman extended heartfelt congratulations to all the award-winning teachers, commending their passion, resilience, and commitment to shaping the future of young learners. He announced that a special civic reception will be held in their honor on Thursday, October 23, 2025, to celebrate their exceptional achievements and contributions to the advancement of education in Abeokuta North.
