Abeokuta North Council Boss Recounts Achievements, Assures Residents’ Of Improved Standard Of Living, announces launch of OGOO Metro and Inter-State Transport Scheme

In his efforts to deepen the legacies of His Excellency The Governor of Ogun State Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON, the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government has re-assured the good people of Abeokuta North Local Government that his administration would continue to initiate and execute developmental projects that aligns with the ISEYA strategic pillars of the Governor.

Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo highlighted that within the first 100 days of assuming office, he has initiated and executed projects cutting across sectors such as Health, Education, Environment, Youths empowerment and Social Infrastructure.

The most recent of these notable achievements is the refurbishment and total overhauling of the erstwhile abandoned Hiace bus by previous administrations of the local government. In his words, he noted that “governance is continuous, and we must continue to ensure that no stone is left unturned”. He promised that the remaining three buses that are in similar condition would soon become operational and fully rehabilitated and shall become the first seed for the proposed OGOO Metro and Inter-State Transport Scheme soon to be launched by the Local Government.

It will be recalled that the chairman recently turned the sod for the commencement of the Dapo Abiodun Low and Medium cost Housing Estate as part of the Abeokuta North New Town Development project which is believed to be a strategic move at supporting the housing provision drive of the State and Federal Government.

Similarly, other areas infrastructure development being credited to the astute leadership of Dr Oyegbola-Sodipo includes renovation of the council secretariat, structural renovations and provision of essential amenities like portable water, streetlights under the light Up Abeokuta North project, public toilets to support the No to Open Defecation and sanitation facilities to improve the quality of life of residents of Abeokuta North
