At the sitting of the House held on Monday, 17th February 2025, the council deliberated on the state of the beggars’ shed at Lafenwa, near the Enugada Bridge.
After thorough discussions, the council resolved as follows:
The Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Department (WES) is directed to clean up the beggars’ place to prevent potential health hazards and the outbreak of epidemics within the Local Government.
The removal of hoodlums sighted at the location is to be enforced immediately to protect passerby from possible criminal activities at wee hours.
The council emphasized the urgent implementation of these resolutions to improve public health and security in the affected area.
All relevant authorities are expected to act promptly to ensure compliance and maintain order in the community.
