With agriculture being a vital part of local economy, the chairman of Abeokuta North local government, Dr Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo joined farmers in the local government at their monthly meeting reaffirming his administration’s commitment to agricultural development.
The interactive meeting held at the local government secretariat provided a platform for farmers to share their challenges, including insecurity vis-a-vis herders disruption of farm lands, poor road networks, and funding issues.
In response, the chairman assured them of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, facilitate government-backed support programs, and ensure inter-ethnic collaborative efforts towards ending farmers-herders clashes.
He also assured farmers that his administration would continue to work closely with relevant agencies to ensure they receive the necessary resources. His presence and engagement at the meeting reinforced his dedication to empowering the agricultural sector in Abeokuta North.
The farmers expressed appreciation for his hands-on approach, and the meeting ended on a note of renewed hope and collaboration.
