Based on the request by KAMWALAY GLOBAL NIG LTD to build a farmers market in Idofin community, Ibara – orile, oke-ogun Abeokuta, a Federal Government Initiative Project by(Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority).
The Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon ‘Lanre Oyegbola- Sodipo, ably represented by the vice chairman, Hon.Taiyelolu Egbeyemi and other management team has visited the site of the proposed farmers market on Friday 24th, January, 2025.
The farmers market which will comprise of both open and lock up stores which purpose is to provide the needed facilities for the storage, preservation and marketing of farm produce within and outside the Locality. These store will be managed by the community after construction.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has made adequate provision for the construction of the facilities as soon as a suitable site is found.
The Council boss, speaking through the Vice Chairman, Hon.Taiyelolu Egbeyemi expressed his appreciation to the Federal Government initiative for bringing such developmental project down to the grassroot which will be a major boost to economic activities within the Council area and beyond.
Also, speaking at the proposed farmers market site, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Kikelomo Munirat Ajayi, added that Oke-Ogun is known for agricultural produce from the on-set and more than capable to sustain the new initiative coming from the Federal Government to boost agricultural activities within and round the globe.
Present at the inspection site includes;The Vice Chairman, Hon.Taiyelolu Egbeyemi, Leader of the House, Hon. Erubami Moruf Ajani, Hon. Adeogun Olarenwaju Lukman Councilor ward 16.
