Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo Honoured with "Ethics and Integrity Ambassador Award" by CESVO

Abeokuta, Nigeria – June 27, 2025 – The Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, has been awarded the prestigious “Ethics and Integrity Ambassador Award (EIAA)” by the Center for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO). The award was presented on June 26, 2025, at the Local Government Secretariat, recognizing Dr. Sodipo’s steadfast commitment to ethical governance and transparency, along with his dedication to quality public service.

This significant event also saw the presentation of the “Corporate Ethics and Integrity Compliance Award Certificate” to the Local Government Council, which achieved an impressive score of 87% in the recent institutional performance indicator assessment conducted by CESVO. This thorough evaluation involved various methods, including undercover investigations, project site visits, budget tracking, and resident feedback through surveys.

Prince Salih Musa Yakubu, Executive Director of CESVO, expressed that although the organization is primarily known for exposing corruption, Dr. Sodipo’s extraordinary leadership warranted recognition. “It is not in our character to praise-sing politicians, but when excellence and ethical governance are found, we must acknowledge them.

Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo stands out as a shining example in local governance, akin to other illustrious leaders like the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo, who received similar recognition,” he remarked.

Additionally, several senior officials of the Local Government received commendation letters for their exemplary public service and adherence to ethical conduct. Among those honored were Vice Chairman Hon. Taiyelolu Egbeyemi, Legislative Council Leader Rt Hon. Moruf Ajani Erubami, Secretary to the Local Government Engr. (Mrs) Mutiat Agbaje, Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Kikelomo Munirat Ajayi, Others including Supervisors, Directors and some heads of department and unit heads.

Upon receiving the award, Dr. Sodipo expressed both gratitude and surprise, recognizing it as a motivation to strive for even greater achievements. He stated, “I am truly amazed and honored by this award. It is a call to do more. My dream is to make Abeokuta North the number one Local Government in Nigeria.” He extended his thanks to CESVO for their impartial evaluation process, as well as to his political partners, aides, and the dedicated civil servants whose efforts were pivotal in achieving this accolade.
