The Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Ayorinde AbdulSalam Adebayo, has kicked off year 2022 edition of an Inter-Ward Youth Football Competition, tagged; “Abeokuta North Unity Cup”

that took place at the Ebenezer Obey Musical Football Playing Ground, beside Ogun Radio office of Mile -2 area along Lafenwa – Ayetoro Road, Abeokuta recently.

The Council boss while welcoming people into the venue expressed his delight to God for giving the grace to achieve the programme. He as well appreciated the mammoth crowd for being part of the history making event, assuring that the tournament will be classy and entertaining event like no other one.

He added that the event will pave way not only for bonding and identifying winners at the end, but also give a chance to showcase the individual and collective talents of the participants and teaches us to work in harmony.

Prince Ayorinde, reiterated that, “the event will serve as another way to engage and empower the youths who are talented, motivated and committed to being good Ambassadors of our dear Local Government.”

He further, applauded the All Progressive Congress Party Chairman in the Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde for her selflessness, passion, kindheartedness and for being a staunch supporter of social and political movement that is aimed at representing the interest of the ordinary people in a bid to bring both economical and political change in the land.

The Council boss, also promised that his administration will continue to follow the footsteps of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, the Governor of Ogun State by providing affordable housing scheme and other social amenities as it is presently being witnessed in Sabo and Arakanga Areas of the Local Government.

Prince Ayorinde also used the medium to express displeasure over the manner in which some Political appointees nominated to represent Abeokuta North in Oke- Mosan who are expected to be using their good offices to better the lives of both indigenes and non – indigenes but, on the contrary are hindering peace, love, harmony, and development while reminding them that posterity beckons. He then enjoined all political gladiators and other party faithfuls across the Local Government in particular and Ogun State at large to embrace peaceful co-existence and harmonious interaction with one another. He equally appreciated esteemed political appointees and leaders of the party, ably led by the indefatigable Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR while stressing that without their support and cooperation all these laudable achievements couldn’t have been possible.

Alhaja Faidat Sarumi. Akintunde, the APC Party Chairman in the Local Government, expressed her gratitude to all and sundry for their large turnout for the sporting event as well promised to continually render adequate support towards the growth of the youths in the Council Areas whenever called upon.

Hon. Olumide Osoba member of House of Representatives representing Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda Federal Constituency, who spoke through his Aide, Mr. Oluwaseun Akinpelu, appreciated the Council Chairman for the kind gesture of catching them young in the area of sports which will go a long way in unifying the youths of the Council area and later presented brand new full team football jersey to support the program.

Therefore, the opening match was played between the Councillors and the Community Youths within the Council Area which was won by the Councillors with 2 – 0 aggregate. Mr.AbdulWahab Morzuk emerged man of the match whom was presented a leather football and cash gift by the Executive Chairman, Prince Adebayo Ayorinde.

Dignitaries at the event includes; the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ayoola Oluajo, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kabir Odusiji, Hon.Moruff Salaudeen and Mr Faleti Olumide Solomon are the organizers of the program, others are the Governor’s Liaison Officers, Dr Wale Bello, and Hon. Tajudeen lshola, Former Party Chairman, Alhaji Sobayo Akeem, Ag.Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Nurat Sekoni, Head Primary Health Care Department, Dr Oladipupo Afonja, Clerk of the House, Mr. Hamza Afolabi, party faithfuls among others.
