The Abeokuta North Local Government, under the leadership of the Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, has commended security agencies for their swift and decisive action in apprehending a group of suspected individuals discovered to have been camped within the bush surrounding the Sabo area of Abeokuta North Local Government.

Security sources revealed that the individuals had established an unauthorized camp without the knowledge of residents, prompting concerns about safety within the community. Acting on intelligence, security operatives moved in promptly, detaining the suspects and transferring them to the Ogun State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, for thorough investigation and profiling.

According to a Senior Police Officer “The suspects are currently in custody, and a full-scale investigation is ongoing to determine their identities, activities, and intentions.”

Reacting to the development, Hon. (Dr.) Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo assured residents that the Council remains fully committed to safeguarding lives and property across Abeokuta North. He praised the synergy between local security stakeholders and the police, noting that such collaboration continues to strengthen community safety.

He urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, adding that the Council in alignment with the directives from the State Government will continue to work closely with security agencies to ensure that peace and order are maintained throughout the local government area.
