The Abeokuta North Local Government of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) on Thursday, 23rd May 2023 conducted an election in the Secretariat that ushered in new Executives of the Branch NULGE Chairman, Comrade Karunwi Abiodun Samuel after the expired tenure of the outgoing NULGE Branch Chairman, Comrade Okanlawon Olawale.
The newly elected ANLG Branch NULGE Chairman, Comrade Karunwi after the seeming election won with 301 Vote against his contestant. He, howbeit, promised members of staff in the LG of Better welfare during his tenure in office.
Apparently, the election was conducted by electoral officers sent by the Nulge state Executive Council, ably led by the Vice president Comrade Engineer Oyekan and accompanied by Comrade A.A. Adegbemi, State Secretary Nulge, Comrade Bankole Titilayo and Comrade Ilori Olusola.
For the Seat of the Branch NULGE Chairman, Comrade Karunwi Abiodun Sammuel won with 301 votes, while his opponent Comrade Adekunle Sulaimon Olaiya had 131 votes. Moreover, after his declaration as winner, Comrade Karunwi Abiodun gave thanked to God and all the numbers of staff, ANLG including the outgoing Nulge Chairman, Comrade Okanlawon Olawale, for the Confidence repose on him and the entire team to paddle the boat of Nulge in ANLG to a glorious destination.
He stressed further that, in any election, someone must be the winner, while pleading with other opponents to join hands with him by ensuring unity and success in ANLG
“Let me sound this to all of my fellow Contestants that our doors are open,and our ears will be attentive to all your Suggestions anytime they are brought to us”. United we win, Divided we fall.
Comrade Karunwi, in his delighted mood appreciated all the State Administrative Council (SAC) under the leadership of the State President, Comrade Adefesobi Adebayo(Olumo), all the Ogun Central leaders both active and retired, all branch Chairman and all Executive in the Zone and other Contestants.
Head of the Local Government Administration ((HOLGA), Alhaji Junaid Wasiu Babatunde, FCA, advised the elected Branch NULGE Chairman and the Executives to work towards fulfilling all the promises made during the electioneering campaign and also work together as team in order to achieve greater feat that will prod ANLG to greater height.
Meanwhile, the swearing-in and recitation of Oath was conducted by the Nulge Vice president in Ogun State, Comrade Engineer Oyekan.
Present at the election ground were Comrade Wole Sorunke, former NULGE Chairman, ANLG, Comrade Egunsola Olarenwaju, Comrade Wale Afuape, former Nulge P.R.O.in Ogun State, Comrade Okanlawon Olawale,outgoing Nulge Branch chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Sola Omidiji, Nulge Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Director General Services and Administration, Mr Abiodun Edun, Directors and HOD’s of Various Departments.
Others notable Nulge leaders in other zones were also present at the election exercise.
