The Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Abdulsalam Ayorinde has also registered his administration’s condolence to the family of the deceased who lost his life and sympathised with those who lost their properties in a lone gas explosion on Saturday 27th April, 2024 at Ita- Oshin axis of Abeokuta.
The Council Boss made these comments during an on- the-spot assessment to the venue on Sunday to ascertain the level of damages caused by the incident. He then used the medium to express appreciation to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, the Governor of Ogun State for his prompt and timely intervention in a way of calling on the victims and the entire citizenry to remain calm as well as ordering the immediate evacuation of the site of the incident to pave way for vehicular movement and restore normalcy in the axis.
Noting that the Governor’s style of administration in the State since its inception has tremendously restored the much-needed peace, harmony, succour, and tranquility to the Gateway State more than ever before and this is worthy of emulation by all.
HON. Ayorinde who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ayoola Oluajo described the incident as unfortunate which according to him came as a rude shock to the people and government of the Council Area.
He therefore prayed to Almighty God to grant the repose of the dead eternal rest, grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss, and comfort those who lost their properties as well as means of livelihood.
He then sued for calm as his administration will work closely with the State Government in a bid to ameliorate the suffering the victims might be encountering as a result of the unforeseen inferno while urging the motorists and other road users to avoid over speeding, ensure routine checks on their vehicles, make their safety and that of other road users a priority each time they are on the road.
He encouraged motorists, particularly those on haulages carrying highly inflammable goods and other heavy truck drivers to cultivate the habit of checking the road signs as they were put there by the government to regulate the activities of every road users for the betterment of all.
