Earlier today, the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo attended the installation ceremony of newly appointed Muslim chiefs within the Egba Muslim Community.

The appointed chiefs include the wife of the Ogun APC senatorial chairman, Baba Sowunmi.

The event, held at the Egba central mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta brought together dignitaries which include the deputy governor of Ogun state, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the senator representing Ogun central, Sen. Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, former Nigeria ambassador to the UK, Amb Sarafa Tunji Ishola, among others, witnessed this significant milestone in the life of the Muslim community.

The Chairman congratulated the new chiefs and commended the Egba Muslim Community for its commitment to peace, unity, and religion heritage. He also reaffirmed the local government’s continued support for initiatives that promote the religion of Islam.
