In his usual style of inclusive engagement, the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Dr Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo has reiterated his administration’s commitment to staff welfare, recognizing that the strength of the local government lies in the dedication and well-being of its workforce.

This was evident during a meeting held today, 9th April 2025, between the Chairman and the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Abeokuta North chapter. The meeting, which took place at the council secretariat, focused on key staff-related matters, particularly the ongoing low-cost housing scheme project being initiated by the administration.

The union representatives raised concerns regarding working conditions and sought clarity on the inclusion and benefits for staff in the proposed housing scheme. They were commended by the Chairman for the constructive and sincere manner in which they presented their demands.

In his response, Hon. Oyegbola assured the union of his unwavering commitment to staff welfare, noting that this commitment is already being demonstrated through the ongoing renovation of buildings within the local government secretariat. He emphasized that his administration values every member of staff and is actively taking steps to address their concerns, especially in relation to the housing project.
