In a renewed commitment to strengthening productivity and ensuring quality service delivery, the management of Abeokuta North Local Government has organised an in-house training programme for staff across all cadres and the eight departments within the council.

The capacity-building exercise, held on December 1, 2025, at the Hon. Abeeb Ajayi Multi-Purpose Hall, Akomoje, was designed to equip staff with essential knowledge and improve efficiency in line with the directives of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission during its recent visit to the council.

Participants received lectures on Foundational Principles of Information Management delivered by Mr. Fagbire Oluwarotimi of the Department of Information, Education and Sports, while Budgeting: Merits and Demerits was facilitated by Mrs. Yinka Daramola of the Department of Planning, Research and Statistics.

She noted that continuous capacity building remains crucial in achieving excellence at all levels of governance, stressing that well-trained personnel are indispensable to effective service delivery.

The interactive session also allowed participants to ask questions, which were addressed by the facilitators and other senior officers present.

Additionally, Mrs. Bisoye Obassan, a representative of Sterling Bank, sensitized attendees on various banking packages and guided them on procedures for opening new accounts.

The event recorded impressive attendance from Directors, Heads of Departments, and staff representatives from across the local government, including those from outstations.
