The Chairman, of Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Abdulsalam Ayorinde, has begun the preliminary work of the ultra-modern shopping Complex at Ita-Oshin garage, Abeokuta.
The modern shopping complex according to Prince Ayorinde is aimed at increasing as well as improving the business activities within Ita-Oshin garage and it’s environ, and metamorphosis of the old structured garage to a modernized one that will in no small measure curb the illegal parking along the roads and put an end to criminal activities within the vicinities.
Prince Ayorinde stressed further that collection of tolls would become easier for the union as the Local government has finalised arrangements with the principal officers of the Road Transport Union and Iya loja of Ita-Oshin Market.
The Council boss reiterated that the market women will be the first beneficiaries because the shopping mall will accommodate everyone as more people will still come from outside to benefit form it.
The Local Government boss declared that all the illegal parks would be cancelled and enforcement would commence immediately after the completion of the project.
Moreover, Prince Ayorinde also expressed his appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for supporting the Local Government in numerous ways in ensuring that developmental projects embarked upon were successfully completed without any hindrance at a record time.
Speaking at the event, Alhaja Taiwo Tella, Iya Loja of Ita-Oshin Market expressed her gratitude for the new development, saying, many Governments had come before and tried their best but the present administration led by Prince Adebayo Ayorinde had been outstanding and unprecedented.
She further solicited that open stalls should be included for petty traders.
Alhaja Taiwo showered praises on the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for installing her as Iya loja of Ita oshin market as well as appreciated Prince Ayorinde, the Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, for the love he has bestowed upon the market women.
One of the Road Transport Union Leaders who spoke to our correspondent said, the new innovation will change the face of the Ita-Oshin garage and improve business activities as the garage is long overdue for renovation.
