……Appreciates Gov Abiodun for always supporting initiatives that bring rapid development to local governments in the state. As part of the promises made during his electioneering campaign, the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Abdulsalam Ayorinde, has commenced the construction of a Modern Health Facility, Block of classrooms, and ultra-modern mini market at Oke-Ogun, Sabo, Area of Abeokuta North Local Government.

Prince Ayorinde said, as part of efforts by the government at the grassroots towards making life more meaningful and in the bid to deliver dividends of democracy to the teeming good people of the council area.

He appreciated everyone who graced the historic and monumental event. “I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for always supporting initiatives that would bring about development to the Local Government and Ogun State as a whole, as well as fatherly role he has been playing concerning our Local Government since assumption of office.

Similarly, the Council boss expressed his admiration to the present Monarch of Owu Kingdom, Oba(Prof) Saka Matemilola for his fatherly role and unwavering support towards ensuring significant development in Abeokuta North Local Government during the present Administration.


He equally extended his gratitude to all Royal Fathers, Baales, Chiefs, APC Party Leaders, and other stakeholders in the Local Government through prayers and selfless efforts in making the day a reality.

Prince Ayorinde disclosed that the gigantic projects would be done in phases and would be run and operated on a public-private partnership basis and would enable interested individuals to affordable levels of payments and easy means of livelihood within the state.

He emphasised that despite the paucity of funds in the country generally, the Local Government has successfully completed developmental projects across all the wards within the Local Government Area, some of these projects include, the construction of a standard health care facility at Ikeja, the purchase and renovation of health Centre at Mile 2, ongoing construction of shopping mall at Olomore Market, ita Oshin and Lafenwa Market which is expected to be completed before the end of this Administration.

Furthermore, the council boss also solicited for the maximum cooperation of the people within the council area so as to ensure that the projects are completed in time for usage, in order to justify the intended purpose.

Subsequently, Prince Ayorinde appreciated the leader and legislative Council Members, Executive Members, and Career Officers in the Local Government for their cooperation and support towards the success of the past and ongoing projects.

His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman and his team, the career officers, and CDC chairmen, as well as all the baales for their unrelentless support always.

He, however, expressed his displeasure on those people who are occupying Local Government land illegally while blaming the insincerity among Baales.

Oba Matemilola also charged the people of Sabo Oke-Ogun to embrace the new development brought to them, as the market would reduce the stress of going to Lafenwa Market for shopping as well as increase land purchases.

The Monarch reiterated that all efforts of Prince Ayorinde ever since his assumption of office have been to bring developmental projects and make life bearable for the citizenry while adding that people should all embrace the great work despite the situation of the country because it will be of benefit to the children unborn.

Speaking further, Oba Matemilola revealed that since he has become the Monarch, his focus has always been on how the business, Education, and other sectors within and outside his Jurisdiction will flourish.
He explained that he left some chiefs in the Palace in order to be part of the historic event and the first time of visited the Sabo Oke-Ogun Community.

The former chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government who also doubles as Chairman Land Committee in Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Habeeb Ajayi, warned those occupying the Land illegally to come to the Local Government for proper ratification, stating that Mass enforcement will soon commence on those illegal occupants.

On his part, the CDC Chairman, Sabo Oke-Ogun, Dr.Adesola pledged their total support and solicited more developmental projects like Oliver Twist.

The APC Party Chairman in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde also expressed gratitude to God that this kind of progress is happening during her own tenure and called for the support of the community Leaders.

Moreover, the Chairman of the Council of Baale, Chief Jelili Oyejide was full of joy and promised to be of help at any given time.

In his vote of thanks, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon.Kabiru Odusiji, also beckoned on all and sundry to render their full support towards ensuring the successful completion of the projects.
