The Head of Local Government Administration, Abeokuta North Local Government,Mrs Grace Oludayo Bosede Bankole, has enjoined the newly elected officers of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC ) of the Council area led by Comrade Adekunle Oreoluwa to be good Ambassador in their new assignment, saying that all eyes will be on them for positive response and resolution to the ongoing lingering issues of fuel subsidy affecting the entire Nation presently.

Mrs Bankole made this charge when receiving the newly elected officers of Abeokuta North Local Chapter in her office at the Council Secretariat, Akomoje on the 31st of July, 2023.

She further advised the EXCOS to approach issues in good manner as well demanding a conducive working atmosphere between the management and the Nigeria Labour Congress in order to have a smooth and remarkable achievement’s during their tenure.

The NLC Chairperson, Comrade Oreoluwa has earlier appreciated Mrs Bankole for her motherly role cum advice before, during and after the just concluded election that emerged her as the winner.

Comrade Oreoluwa further stated that,the visit is meant for familiarization as well to appreciate those that contributed to the success of their election.

In the same vein ,the team later proceeded to the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the Council Secretariat Akemoje where she met with leaders of the union.

The NULGE Chairman, Comrade Okanlawon Olawale while responding,charged the NLC EXCO members that Unionism is serving people, without unity we can’t achieve our goals.

He further, advised the EXCOS to desire a union that will carry people along as well imbibed the spirit of veterans like Comrade Adams Oshiomole,former National NLC Chairman, Comrade Akeem Ambali,former NLC Chairman, Ogun State.

Comrade Okanlawon reiterated, that the team must have a united union that will do away with discrimination.

He further apologized to everyone he might have offended during the course of last NLC election,stressing there is no permanent enemy in unionism.

The NULGE boss and his team also pledged their full support to the newly elected NLC EXCOS in any capacity.

Responding, the NLC Chairperson, Comrade Adekunle Oreoluwa, expressed her gratitude for the maturity and leadership roll played by Comrade Okanlawon during the last NLC election in the Council Secretariat, while she also promised a cordial relationship between the two Union.

The NLC Secretary, during the vote of thanks,appreciated the NULGE Chairman, for the accommodation despite the short notice given to him.
