1. …as he distributes Palliatives to Vulnerable Residents in Abeokuta North Local Government to ameliorate sufferings.

As part of the efforts to cushion the effect of the newly redesigned Naira notes and fuel scarcity that is currently bedeviling the Country, the Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Ayorinde Adebayo has eulogized the prompt response of the Ogun State Government for providing palliatives to ameliorate the sufferings of the poor and vulnerable citizens across the length and breadth of the State.

Prince Ayorinde gave the commendations to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR. the State Governor at the Council’s Secretariat on Monday,13th February 2023. during the flag-off ceremony for the first phase of 400 thousand food items for the poor and the vulnerable in the society tagged; State Social Intervention Programmes. He added that his unrelenting role in making life more comfortable for its citizenry could not be over-emphasized because that is to show that he feels the pains of the masses.

The Council Boss then assured that the palliatives will cut across all the 16th wards of the Council Area in a bid to let it get down to the main targets of this scheme.

Meanwhile, Governor Dapo Abiodun while, speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, expressed the belief that the social intervention program would provide the needed succor to the people of the State, especially during this period of the cash crunch and fuel scarcity which has caused untold hardship on our people. He equally emphasized that the palliatives must get to the appropriate quarters through the representatives from each ward while stressing that there must be room for feedback at all times and that anyone caught in the act of diversion of these items will not be spared as such a person or group of persons would face the full wrath of the law.

The Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. (Mrs) Olufemi Ilori- Oduntan stressed that the administration is seriously worried and concerned with the prevailing circumstances which the government believes will soon be over while it is geared towards the betterment of the people afterward.

She further, said the event is a direct and another symbolic representation of His Excellency’s commitment towards the continued welfare, wellness, and well-being and way of providing an enabling environment that will ensure individual prosperity and collective development of our people.

Amongst the dignitaries that were present include; The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, and the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kolawole Peter Fagbohun, Permanent Secretary, Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Ministry, Mr. Lateef Benson. Others are; the Executive Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Majekodunmi Omolaja, Former Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Ayoola Somide, Vice Chairman, Hon.Ayoola Oluajo, Secretary to the local Government, Hon.Kabiru Odusiji, Other members of the Executive and Legislative arm of Abeokuta North LG, Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Abayomi Lemboye, Party Faithful, Directors both at the State and Local Governments respectively.
