
The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, inaugurated the Board of OGOO Multi-Purpose Ventures and simultaneously trained over 150 youths on agricultural production, as part of activities marking his administration’s first year in office.
The inauguration and training programme, supported by the Food Industrial Park, were held at the Local Government Secretariat, Akomoje, Abeokuta — at both the Conference Room and the Hon. Abeeb Ajayi Multi-Purpose Hall.
A Broad-Based Board Representing All Communities
The newly inaugurated OGOO Multi-Purpose Ventures Board comprises:

“We Are Creating Ventures That Will Speak for Us in 12 Months” – Dr. Oyegbola
In his remarks, Dr. Oyegbola noted that his administration has, within one year, proactively managed farmer-herder clashes in Oke-Ogun and taken bold steps towards economic sustainability.
He emphasized the legal authority of local governments to establish income-generating ventures, stressing that the impact of these initiatives would become even more evident within the next year.
” We have begun by giving the Secretariat a new look and by empowering hundreds of youths in paint making, adire production, soap making and more. Representatives from the four communities will serve two-year renewable terms. Our General Manager, who also serves as SSA on Skill Acquisition and Enterprise Development, Mr. Azeez Adeosun, will oversee operations. In coming weeks , our transportation venture will commence with 5 to 10 vehicles to boost Council’s revenue, ” he announced.
Dr. Oyegbola further disclosed that OGOO Paint has already been used on several shopping complexes, adding that the Local Government has released a ₦10 million seed fund to scale up the new venture. Certificates of recognition and operational frameworks are also being finalized.
In his closing remarks, Vice Chairman Hon. Taiyelolu Egbeyemi urged the newly inaugurated board to deliver remarkable progress within the next year. He praised the council’s workforce for their steadfast support.
The Managing Director, Mr. Azeez Adeosun, expressed gratitude to the Chairman for entrusting him with the role, describing Dr. Oyegbola as a leader with exceptional talent-spotting abilities.
” We will be on our toes, and with collective support, we are confident of succeeding in this assignment,” he said.
150 Youths Trained at Agribusiness Seminar
During the one-day seminar themed “Emerging Opportunities in Agribusiness: Focus on Abeokuta North Local Government”, Dr. Oyegbola encouraged participants to embrace agriculture as a viable pathway to personal success and wealth creation.
Mr. Sola Olunowo, MD of Food Industrial Park, highlighted the agricultural advantage of Abeokuta North, noting that its fertile soil supports crops such as dongoyaro, moringa, and lemon grass, all of which offer strong income potential.
Mr. Michael Anubi, Chief Operating Officer of the Park, described the seminar as a timely intervention that would add immense value to participants, drawing from his many years of experience in the industry.
Representing Charis Microfinance Bank, Mr. Michael Amen outlined various loan opportunities available to aspiring young farmers.
The Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Yinka Oyebade, also lectured participants on fish farming and other profitable agricultural ventures.
