The Nigerian Legion, Abeokuta North Local Government Chapter, has decorated the Executive Chairman, of the Local Government, Prince Adebayo Ayorinde during a courtesy visit of the Executives of the Legion to the Akomoje office of the Chairman in a bid to commemorate the remembrance day celebrations for all the fallen heroes.
The Chairman of the Legion in the Local Government, Mr. Sorinmade Fatai appreciated the Council boss over the warm reception accorded them while he used the medium to explain their purpose of the visit which is to honour and celebrate all the Gallant Officers and men of the Armed Forces who laid down their lives during the World Wars, Nigerian Civil War, those that died at the peace keeping missions as well as the ongoing Boko Haram Insurgency in the Northern part of the Country.
He made it known that Jum’at service had been observed in order to pray for the fallen heroes. He added that, they considered it imperative for the very first time to pay a courtesy call on the Council Chairman, Prince Adebayo Abdul Salam Ayorinde having noticed all his giant strides in the council area and that prompted them to decorate him alongside his team with the 2023 emblem lunch while noting that, such has never happened since the commencement of the celebration over some decades now as he is the first Local Government Chairman to be decorated in the State.
Apart from the Executive Chairman, other members of his team decorated includes; the Honourable Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Sanni Sikirullahi, Deputy Leader, Hon. Adebari Adekunle, Majority Leader, Hon. Makanjuola Tunde Saliu and Chief Whip Hon. Abel Olusegun Joseph. Also decorated were, Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Abayomi Saubana Lemboye, and Head of General Services and Administration, Barr. Abiodun Edun respectively.
While appreciating the August visitors for honour bestowed on him and his team, Prince Ayorinde congratulated them on their yearly celebration and condoled with the bereaved families of the departed souls (Fallen Heroes) who had laid down their individual lives for the country to have a relative peace we are all enjoying today. He then promised to give maximum support to the Organisation and put them in his plans to make life more better for them.
